why would her vet not give her information on how to treat it??

If there are relatively few symptoms some vets will not treat it at that time, saving antibiotics for times when the symptoms are more obvious. Antibiotics used repeatedly end up causing multiple resistant organisms which are then more difficult to treat.

I have had a very nice reply from the owner of this rabbit, she would desperately like to keep Bobby and is trying to help him by starting him on a course of echinasea. I have given her a few more suggestions.

Hopefully we can sort out some treatment for this rabbit. I have replied to the owner and hopefully she will keep in touch with how Bobby is doing.
