best litter??

I currently use a wood based cat litter in my rabbits litter trays. This is fine for my single bun but doesn't seem to cover the smell for my pair. I am having to replace all the litter nearly every day. Does anyone have any idea for what I could use as an alternative?

For my 2 I use a good thickness of newspaper I do their litter tray everyday anyway otherwise it starts to smell as there are 2 of them and they eat more hay when it's fresh. You could always have newspaper and wood based litter I give a decent amount of hay aswell on top of the newspaper so that absorbs the pee too.
