Wise Old Thumper
can anyone offer advice on this. here is the post -
Poor Eli my 7yr old bun has had a horrible couple of years, firstly he lost his long term girlfriend to cancer and nearly died from pining as refused to eat (had to syringe feed him) then a year later he lost his two new girlfriends to mixy (despite being vacc every 6months) thankfully he coped well this time and didnt pne. then shortly after he developed an abcess in his toe and the vet suggested pts. took him to another vet who said 'no try antibiotics'. they fiinally worked after 4wks !!!! he also developed ear mites during this time poss because his immuune system was low.
now 5months later he has developed yet another abcess in the toe next to the previous one. the vet has given me some antibiotics to give by injection every 3 days (poor Eli hes just going to love that !!)
if that doesnt work then I think we are going to pts
i don't know much about abcesses but fear the vets aren't rabbit vets and pts isn't the only option here????
