In addition to our male Netherland Dwarf with the parasite issue, we have his cage mate that now has a problem. While trying to help Percy (the ND), we accidentally left the door unlatched and didn't notice it. So that afternoon, one of the other rabbits, probably another female lop, got after Rene and by the time we found out, Rene was very weak. There is a bite mark on her neck / back area but it only appears to be in the skin. Rene is weak and is not eating or drinking very much. This happened Saturday and we have been force feeding her food and water in addition to what she might have had on her own. We did see her drink from a bowl once on here own. The interesting thing is that when we give her some food, (apple sauce for example in a syringe), we can't see much of a swallow except for once in a while. Not much licking of her lips either.
We are treating her with Fenbendazole since she was in direct contact with Percy.
Rene just lies down and rest most of the time. Could she have been so roughed up by the other female that she has been traumatized? Is there any way to help her out if that is the case?
Any other ideas on this?
Thanks,
