I was away Friday night with my OH looking after the buns. My OH says she was perfectly normal up until yesterday evening when I got home.
Last night she was eating fine and acting normal but there were a few very odd looking poos, looked like a mix of Cecal and normal poop or very sloppy normal poop. There was a small amount stuck to her tail which I wiped off. This is very unusual for her she always has good poop and her bum is always spotless.
This morning I went in to check on her and she seemed bright and happily took a fenugreek crunchie and ran off with it. I topped up the hay and gave them a little readi grass which she hopped over and started nibbling. Happy that the poop was a one off I left them too it.
Now she seems depressed, is not interested in food even fresh forage but will nibble if encouraged to. I've given her some fresh food and she has just eaten a fenugreek crunchie, about 3 or 4 pellets a few bramble leaves and has run about a bit (mostly to avoid me sticking food in front of her face or trying to feel her tummy) but when left alone she settles under their little table and looks miserable.
I can feel a lump in her tummy she is obviously uncomfortable with me feeling her tummy. Can gas feel hard, or a blockage maybe?
She is spayed.
My plan now is to clean them out so that I can monitor her poop closer, encourage a bit more food, syringe some water and leave her half an hour and if no improvement phone emergency vets. Or does the lump mean I should be bundling her into a carrier and heading out now?
