  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Infacol?

Wise Old Thumper
My 2 are constantly teetering on the brink of GI stasis (I have bored you all at length with the story! ), which is probably EC related.

Anyway, after the scare she gave me the other day, Clover is doing really well, but Dusty isn't so good. They are both on Metoclopramide and Metacam, but Dusty's tummy always feels tight - should I give her Infacol too? Thanks :)

Hi! I have only found it to be useful in true cases of gas to be honest.

I'm not sure if its overly useful if it is not a straight forward gassy tummy. Wouldn't harm Dusty though

I would give dusty the infacol because it is supposed to give real pain relief-just in case he has some pain. It can't hurt. Vibes to the babies xx

Thanks for the replies. :) I did give some to her in the end last night, and she was much more interested in her pellets this morning. Can't say for sure, but think the Infacol has helped. So now I'm wondering how often she should have it! :)
