Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hello all,
I Have kept rabbits before but now i would like to start breeding french lops has anyone got any advice they could give me on the best care for them.
Thanks. :D

DONT DO IT, thats the best advice i can give you, i dont know how old you are or if you work, but you would need to give up a lot of time (and money) if you went ahead. A rabbit can have a litter of 2 up to 10 babies
in a litter and you would need to look after them for 8 weeks thats a lot of food and cleaning, you would also need alot of space. Plus you would have to replace rabbits as you dont want to interbreed (breed brother and sisters).

Unless you're breeding for showing, as far as I'm aware it's not a very lucrative business. Plus, there are already thousands of rabbits who need homes without that number being added to.

If you want to go into breeding for showing the best place to look is the BRC (Brittish rabbit Coucil) You need to be a member of them to show and breed. If your wanting to it to make money don't cause you wont make any and you will spend far more than you get back XX
