Hi and Welcome!

They are quite a few rex's in rescue at the moment around the country and many of us know some good rabbit specialists you could ask about your bunny but we need to know roughly where you live - nearest town would be enough - no point me suggesting a vet or a rescue if it turns out you are from Scotland, but there are loads of people from Scotland here who could help instead!!

That should link to a search on the main Rabbit Rehome site for rex's.

Giant papillions are very rare I believe but there are lists of breeders in the breed directory on the BRC website.

hi,
a friend of mine breeds papilons so i u pm or email me i will give u her email addy but she comes from down south if that is any good to u
which kind of rex r u interested in standard or mini???

I would think an umbilical herna would be treatable, it certainly is in other animals like cats/dogs. You might need to get your vet to refer you to a rabbit specialist. Its a good idea to look into it as it can potentially cause problems if the gut comes out through the hole in the muscle and gets twisted up.

reply to all

thanks for all the replies just come off hols so sorry in delay replying will put pics on when i learn how just got a brc rung old english buck he is gorgeous and also an old english doe does anyone know how i change the ring into my name ? and does anyone know of any shows coming up i want to go to see all the different breeds and learn what their markings and such like should be would hate to enter one and have got it all wrong thanks for the papillon site by the way old english are very similar but i am hoping to get a breeding pair of papillons :p

Hi.. where in the country do u live? Then we can tell you when shows are on in your area.
To get the rings in your name i believe the previous owner needs to complete a transfer card and send it off to the BRC altho you would also need to be a BRC member i think. So you will need to contact the previous owner to sort this out. Im sure some of the breeders on this site will be able to confirm this for you.
Welcome to the forum :D

Hi just wanted to ask about the ring is it on the rabbits back leg? just thought i'd warn you about them, i bought my rabbit as an ex show rabbit, and she came with a ring, the vet advised us to have it removed straight away as it does not expand, and it can cause serious damage to rabbits legs, going as far as breaking them if the rabbit does a hard back kick. Sorry to scare you, but seeing my rabbit with a ring panicked me, and your vets will remove it quite painlessly.

Hope this isn't too disappointing, but their must be another way of identifying rabbits for shows.

Hope this helps.
:p
