Please may I have some vibes for Nancy? **New Update p24****

Den

Mama Doe
Nancy has been to the vet today as she is frequently weeing outside of her litter tray.

My regular vet is on maternity leave however I was very pleased to see Alex who is an Exotics specialist :thumb:

Nancy has had blood and urine samples taken and I hope to have the results early next week.

Other than this and drinking more she is her usual self with no obvious signs of being uncomfortable and she has certainly not lost her appetite.

I am very worried about my big bunny.

Lots of vibes being sent for Nancy, I do hope the blood test does not reveal anything too worrying xx

Sending lots of vibes is he managing t get in and out hr litter tray easily enough?

Yes she can get in and out with no problem. She does not appear to have mobility issues and Alex did check her rear joints too.

Thank you everyone for the kind words I will update in due course.

An update on Nancy.

She has a clear bacterial infection - 2 types of bacteria were present as was evidence of miniscule crystals. She has been started off on a 14 day course of Baytril which I collected after work today. The Baytril will definitely help with one bacteria - but may not help with the other. He did give me the names of other antibiotics which may be needed if she does not respond to the Baytril but I cannot remember them!

Her blood test was more or less ok. Her glucose level was normal, liver enzyme (?) was slightly raised but not enough to cause concern. Nothing obvious showed up to indicate kidney issues. Given that other than the 'wee' problem she is fine in herself with no weight loss or loss of appetite, she had not been tested for EC. I had no idea her symptoms could be caused by EC - it was suggested by a Facebook friend - I thought EC presented with neurological symptoms.

The upshot of all of the above is that she has a follow up appointment on Friday 19th to see how she is after 10 days of Baytril and she will have new tests.

If she has not improved she will need to have a scan of her bladder to see what is going on and will also be tested for EC:cry:

It's always reassuring to get a clear result, even if it means poor Nancy has an infection. I hope that she responds well to the Baytril and soon feels a lot better.

Vibes for Nancy, yes baytril is horrible.I used to put it fifty fifty with neat Ribena for my bridge buns.It helped, though they still didn't relish it.
