Lilly carpet licking

Very occassionally lilly lets me stroke her.
But when I do she licks the carpet

I see this behaviour as Lilly holding you in greater positive regard that you might think - it's almost like grooming you. Boo just grooms me non stop but the other 2 groom near where I'm fussing them - they love me but don't want to admit it :lol:
