Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Mites and grooming.

Young Bun
Hi, my little bunny Eric has mites. They are pretty bad as he's been recovering from a range of other problems so his immune system has been weakened.

He and my other rabbit are currently being treated for them but my question is should I groom him? Until this point I haven't as his fur falls out easy and there's loads of dandruff and I don't want to spread them all over the house. I was wondering however, would I be better to groom him so it removes some of the mites and gives him a better chance of getting rid of the things. He has got patches of bald currently and I know grooming him may make them worse.

Thanks :)

You could brush him if he doesn't mind, otherwise you will just stress him out. Have you heard about Echinacea as it is very good for boosting the immune system? I hope your bunny starts to get stronger.

He likes brushing but don't know if it will spread them or irritate his skin.
Oo no what is that?
