Rabbit Run

New Kit
Hi all,
We are looking to refresh our rabbit run. We currently have a huge wooden structure that is attached to the hutch but over the years it has had many a repair and adjustment (made by the bunnies and not agreed with us!!). We thought a metal run would solve all our problems - light-weight, chew-proof, easy to maintain, rain-proof, plenty of doors and easy to make different shapes if we buy a few. Unfortunately, we have been put off by the bad reviews some have left regarding rabbits pushing their heads through the bars and then dying. Obviously we could put some meshing on the inside to deter them from doing this but we are looking for a metal run that would not need any adjustments.
Any suggestions please?
Many Thanks

In my opinion you would be much better with another wooden run attached to the hutch - they are heavier and your rabbits could be left unattended, whereas with a metal run you would need to supervise (no metal runs are as sturdy and do not have a top).

If you want to have a look at a setup combining Runaround and a wooden hutch/run then here's a link to a video with mine - http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/showthread.php?440754-Connecting-Runaround-to-an-existing-set-up and there's also Bunny Boo's setup here - http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/showthread.php?443197-A-very-Happy-Bunny-take-2.

Runaround isn't cheap but the upside is you can easily move it, change how connects and just as easily add to it when you can afford to. Don't know if it would be the solution to your problem but personally I'm very happy I've got it and my hooligans are too. Their website is here http://www.runaround.co.uk/ and it's well worth having a look at their Facebook page as well.

Also, just a thought, but how about posting some pictures of your existing set up/space. Coming up with suggestions are oftentimes easier if that way. :)
