  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My Bunny Health Checklist

I generally do health checks on the bunnies at random intervals when I feel I haven't done one for a while, I only did this because they were both always in great health, but with Milo's recent stasis episode and just for my own peace of mind I've decided I'm going to do a little health check regularly once a week to keep my mind at rest.

I made this on Microsoft publisher to just write some notes down and help me keep track of how they are doing each week.

There is a space at the top of each column where I have Milo and Finn's names but I figured most have two rabbits, if you have more you can split the columns up more yourself to have more space for extra buns and if you have one bun you can still use it!

I know not everyone can check a rabbits heart but that's mostly just for me as I've started using my stethoscope to listen for gut sounds and things!

I have no idea if this will come in handy for anyone else, just thought I'd upload it in case anyone else could make use of it. x
