Wise Old Thumper
So in December/January I decided to start keeping track of how much I spend on my two bunnies, just out of interest to see how long things last between purchases. I like to think I'm good with money but it's easy to get carried away on spending when you want to spoil them! It's turned out to be really interesting at just how much things mount up.
I thought some other people might find it interesting to write theirs down on a thread too as it is surprising what it reveals sometimes. And also, it helps to see what others are spending if you want to try to cut down
I'll be updating my post as and when I buy new things, so there'll be a running total on my post.
My costs start from 1st December 2013. And mine also doesn't include fresh food as again, it's too hard to calculate for me.
So...
Insurance for them both @ £21.55 every 1st of the month (was £20 per month) : £335.50

2. £42 for Tapla's vaccination
3. £35.99 for consult for Tapla
4. £34.77 for consult and zantac for Tapla
5. £70 for Nena's abscess excess
6. £70 for Tapla's petplan excess for snuffles
7. £41 for Nena's vaccination
So my total from 1st December 2013 is £1731.12
I also bought a new run for them for £140 but I haven't included that.
It's very high due to the costs of Nena's abscess. If I remove all of Nena's abscess costs the total drops to just £697.42 which I think is a very good figure, although I haven't added any fresh food on at any point. So that's £719.34 on Nena's abscess (without factoring in their insurance costs). Bearing in mind Nena has maxxed out one years £2000 limit and is only about £100 from her second lot of £2000 for this insurance year.
