  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Poor Poppy :(

Vets again today! Unfortunately we have to wait a bit longer so we can see our usual vet who knows everything about Poppy, the vet who is on for the first 3 hours is one I like to avoid.. I'm keeping an eye on her though and will take her in if her behaviour changes.

According to my bf, she made a funny noise this morning (but he doesn't know if it was her or one of the hamsters). She has a gurgley/rumbley stomach and occasionally 'eating' when she isn't, if that makes sense! But that is something she normally does anyway and has done for more than 2 years.

My bf thinks she's been trying to eat hay again, she has got some stuck and he had to pull it out before but she isn't acting like that is happening.

She's currently going between cleaning herself and chilling out, flopping, falling asleep and dreaming like she usually does in the morning.

Poor poor Poppy, I wonder how many times she will try to climb us today!

Millions of vibes for Poppy. I really hope she is ok. Its funny how you get fond of all the rabbits here on RU... Your little queen. x

She really is my queen  She was kissing me earlier which doesn't happen very often! I think she was mistaking my skin for clothes again

She's fine  She was fine after the appointment was made, fine at the vets and has been fine all day   better to be safe than sorry! She actually has some eye drops to prevent infection in her nose, it looked like some hay had stabbed her nose  (I think that's what they're for anyway, I had a face full of Poppy at this point ) but apart from that her teeth are okay (as much as they can be!) and she's looking good! She's due her vaccination next month so will have another MOT, it may be that she is due her yearly tear duct flush.. But we'll see :D
