Rabbit winter coat

Springfield24

Alpha Buck
Hi I was just wondering if rabbits grow a winter coat? My Springfield seems to have a very thick coat at the moment (it's so squishy and gorgeous! ) but I didn't know if it was seasonal or just as he's getting older and changing. I've only had him since May so wouldn't know if it was seasonal and he's about 7 months old now. My other bun is about a year but I've only had her around a month however her fur changes colour quite often from fawn to patchy to grey.

Springfield is the larger grey bun and Lola the smaller lady

You can see the size difference!

All buns moult and grow winter coats. Outdoor buns generally grow a thicker winter coat than their indoor buns, but breed does come into it.

I have a dutch x, he has a fairly short coat all year round. He lives with his friend, Xena, and she is a lop x ? and she has a very thick coat, even more so in winter. They are both indoor buns.

See I didn't know if in/outdoor would make a difference. You can probably tell my two are indoor. Feel like they're more part of the family :)
