Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit tearing up magazines

Would it be safe to give my rabbit my old fashion mags to rip up and stuff. I'm trying to make my room rabbit proof but I have an over obsessive amount of magazines that I can't store away because there's that many so I don't know how I'd be able to rabbit proof them unless I binned them so I was wondering if it would be okay for the bunnies to play with and have a good tear at em instead? I honestly have around 70 exposed magazines...

My bunnies love mags to tear up. I remove the staples in the middle before I give them to them though. They also love ripping up the yellow pages.

Mine dig the newspapers till they are in shreds,,,

Yep clovers cage is lined with paper and she dig and shreds it even when there's no more layers to do.

She especially loves doing it at 5 in the morning

That's why mine live in the shed outside!

Mine also adore tearing up the newspaper which lines their hutch - and also tear into the paper in the litter tray too

Mine love to tear paper and cardboard - 5 in the morning must be a bit
