  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

reaction to xenex ultra spot on treatment

My rabbit was just treated with xenex ultra spot on drops, an hour later i noticed that bald patches were appearing where she had been treated. she is very unsettled and when the area is touched she shoots off in a panic. i have treated the area with salt and water is there anything else i can do and how long will the reaction last for?

If you search the forum there are a huge amount of adverse reactions to Xenex (one of mine even died 24 hours after it was applied). If possible, washing the area thoroughly to wash it offf would be recommended, but also I would be contacting a vet for pain relief too, given that it is clearly sore.

Poor bunny. I hope she feels better soon.

And welcome to the forum :)

Sky-O's already covered what I was going to mention so I'll just nod in agreement with her post. :thumb:

I've also moved this to health for you as people are more likely to see it. I hope bunny feels better soon.
