  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Should I bath him?

This morning I was getting Rarby into his run and he totally freaked and ran off. I usually take him out first and he is fine but thought i would take lopi first for a change. Wont be doing that again.lol. Anyway when I eventually picked him up he has pee all over his feet.

Should I bath him? He's he's not acting any differently just has pee on him and I am now worried he may end up with fly strike (I did spray with protector on tuesday though).

I wouldn't bother. He's clean it off himself. Bathing him will just stress him out more. Keep his environment clean and if you really need to wipe the areas with a damp towel or some cotton wool. :)

I agree - it will just stress him out and then instead if having a little wee on him which will dry out fairly quickly, he'd be completely wet and that would put him at an even higher risk of fly strike!

Thanks guys. Sorry if thqt was a stupid questio. I did think it may be best to leave him but wanted to double check just to be on the safe side. He has
given himself a good clean now and is his beautiful self once again :)

No questions are silly.
If it were a dog it would be a sensible thing to do, but bunnies are a little different.
