Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

E Cuniculi

New Kit
Hi

My rabbit was at the vet yesterday and given Lapizole to treat E Cuniculi and I am also giving him a small amt of Metacam. He has not been eating so I am syringe feeding every hour a small amount of recovery paste and a little water with pineapple juice. I haven't seen any pee or poo since yesterday.

Am i syringe feeding enough or should it be more frequent/less and can I do anything else to help him?

His symptons are a slight head tilt, circling occasionally and weak legs.

I have another rabbit, should I start a course of panacur for her as a precautionary measure?

Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks

RE other rabbit, should I start a course of panacur for her as a precautionary measure?

it may be wise to treat other with Panacur , to be on the safe side ,see below quote and link

The best preventative measure we can currently recommend is a 9 day course of Panacur Paste for Rabbits every 6 months. If your rabbit has had E.cuniculi diagnosed previously, then treat every 3 months. If you are going to be moving house or getting a new rabbit then we recommend that you treat for 9 days again.

and i'll get some panacur for my other rabbit while i'm there.
