  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

And now it's Pippin! :(

HS

Wise Old Thumper
Daisy-Boo last night, now Pippin's refused his supper. He ate a fenugreek, but not interested in anything else. He was eating hay at around 5.30pm, so hopefully caught this really early. Syringed some recovery food, and he put up quite a large fight, so hoping he's not feeling too poorly.
I'm racking my brains as to why? They are fed exactly the same as the other 3 rabs, I've not introduced anything new to their run.
Vibes for Pippin please.

Not really. They were out on Sunday for half an hour, but that's fairly normal. I guess the grass is lusher at the moment though isn't it? Confusing though, as all of the buns were out on Sunday, and I do give them a small handful a day so that their tummies are used to it.
It could be that though.

Thank you. Think we may have caught it in time, as I've just taken their pellets out, and as soon as I rattled the bowl he came straight down and started tucking in. I need to keep an eye on both of them over the next few days I think.
