  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

How can you tell if a bunny is incontinent?

What are the signs/symptoms?

ETA: compared to refusing to be litter trained/scent marking with pee?

Little puddles, especially near cage door are signs that B is having problems again. It usually means she runs to her cage to use litter tray but it comes out too quickly as she jumps in.

Snap! Teddi does exactly the same bless him...... he even does it in his sleep

does this mean they're incontinent? :(

I really don't know tbh ..... never had a bun do this before :?
He is off to the vet for his Myxi tomorrow, so it is on my list of things to discuss..... will let you know what my vet thinks

Not sure if this is the same but I had an incontinent guinea pig and her back end became very messy because she'd wee and poo a lot and still sit in it. There was wee's allover not in the usual corner and her bum was always slightly wet.

This is just what she is like, she's always covered in wee and poo and just dots wee all over

Sounds just like my Minstrel. Constantly wet, puddles all over the place, poor fur condition and matting round back end. This has sadly been going on for over a year and so far no treatment has worked :(

I have 2 incontinent bunnies but they are disabled and they just wee everywhere I have them on Vet bed and washable mats which I have to change every other day and so I am always washing.
