  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Worming

rachylou

Warren Veteran
We recently started worming for the full course and plan to do so once or twice a year from now on.
Last time we wormed them was:

Cookie:

13th August- 9th September

Jimby:

October 9th- 5th November

We would like to be able to worm them both at the same time so would it be ok to leav it till 6th June-1st July to worm them both?
This would mean it would have been 9 months since Cookie was last wormed and 7 months since Jimby was last wormed?

Also I know there are particular days you are meant to do a full blitz of their living areas what days are they?

There's no exact science to this so I'd imagine that would be fine. If they've been treated and not been in contact with any other bunnies I'd imagine they are relatively safe.

Cleaning days are 21 and 28.

You're welcome.

Its a tricky subject as all the views are so varied.

Some people only treat once the again if there are symptoms, some yearly, etc. Its whatever you are comfortable with.
