  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Can anyone recommend a bunny savvy vet near Walton-on-Thames?

I live in Walton in Surrey, we have Ashley Vets very nearby but they've been quite poor with our guinea pigs in the past, and we're getting two bouncing bunnies quite soon.

I've had the Goddard Veterinary Group in Ewell recommended to me for guinea pigs, but does anyone know of any bunny savvy vets nearby that can do the job, or if the Goddard Veterinary Group are as good with rabbits as they are guinea pigs.

Thanks in advance for any help

Probably too far but worth considering if you cannot find anything more local.

http://www.any-uk-vet.co.uk/twickenham/index.htm I can definately personally recommend Christabel who manages this vets. One negative is that I believe they no longer do their own out of hours service.

http://www.windleshamvet.com/ This is one of the vets The Duchess uses and I know she speaks highly of Gill. From their website they do their own out of hours service.

There must be somewhere else nearer you which someone else can recommend I would think.

thanks janice - I'll look into the Twickenham / hampton one if I don't find about anything nearer.

And I'm pretty sure The Duchess mentioned Windlesham Vets and Gill to me when I visited the rabbit crossing!
