Hello everyone,
So here's my dilemma...My rabbit, Bijou, has totally stopped drinking, this has been going on for about a week now. Here's the kicker, her eating habits are exactly the same as they were before she stopped drinking. Her excretion is still regular, and her energy level is the same, if not more energetic than before!
I feel her romaine lettuce, broccoli, parsley, and dill on a daily basis and she loves it. She also has an unlimited supply of timothy hay.
I've attempted to give her water via syringe but I was unsuccessful (any tips on how to do this would be appreciated too).
She has a bottle, and a water dish readily available and changed daily. I've tried giving her tap water, bottled water, different temperatures of water, and I've also tried putting some pineapple juice in her water dish as a little incentive. Still, nothing.
I'm certain she's dehydrated, because I did the back-of-the-neck-skin-test thing, and it didn't snap back into place immediately. But she seems perfectly normal, more energetic than normal, and her excretion is normal.
Why is everything else normal but she refuses to drink? How can I help her?
Thanks in advance for any advice/tips!
