Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

    You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Gripe water & Nettle and fennel tea!

FudgeMallow

Mama Doe
I went and got Gripe Water and Twinnings Nettle and Fennel tea as Fudge has been getting very gassy spells the past few days.

She gets Metacam just now but do i give both or just the gripe water or try the tea?
Also how much gripe water and Tea do you give bunnies?

Thank you :wave::wave:

i was reading some of your threads about fudge getting gas. have you found any reason for the gas recurring? bisc has the same problem and i don't know why.

did fudge have any tests/xrays etc?

thanks :wave:

Shes had x-rays and it hasnt shown anything, my vet isnt too worried he said he has a few bunnies that go to the surgery that have the same problem with colic.
Fudge is going through a moult just now which does bother her alot and she has just come through stasis so im not too worried i just have to keep ontop of it. Im not sure if its because she eats too quickly as its usually after her brekkie and dinner that she gets a little gassy tummy, ive tried stopping certain pellets (she gets 4 different brands) and stopping her dried herbs but she still gets gas :(

I used to use infacol but that took alot of time to get into her and although it did help her i read on here that gripe water is better, i can only hope she likes it :roll:
