  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hya All,

As you know I've had alot of problems with my little man this week and I just though i'd keep you up to date on his progress. I picked the little dude up from the vets at 3.30 and apart from a little bald patch on his neck were he had a blood test he's perfect !!! The vet explained what had been found and what treatment was required (as posted in my previous thread) and said that I would need to take him back tommorow if he doesn't eat or drink and if he does then he needs to have a check up on saturday so I thanked him and took my precious little bundle home. I popped him into his cage (after he weed on me on the way home !) and as soon as I did he went straight to his hay and starting munching and then had a drink and he keeps going backwards and forwards between his hay and water and I also cleaned his cage out whilst he was at the vet and i'm pleased to say it is now covered in lots of poops and I really couldn't be happier !!!! thankyou so much to everyone who helped me through this x
