  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit specialist?

Does anyone know what sites to look at to find specialist vets for rabbits? I am in the Kings Lynn area of Norfolk, if anyone here can recommend anywhere? The vet I have at the moment doesn't really seem to know much in depth, and as an owner of 2 rabbits I would like to find one should I need one. *touch wood I won't* Thanks.

Oh my sister was referred to a specialist with her bun, she lives in Wisbech so not too far from you....I'll PM her and point this thread out

I used The Grove Veterinary Practice in Swaffham. This was about four years ago, but they were recommended to me as rabbit savvy.

They did seem to know what they were talking about and took the time to consult with my previous vet in Yorkshire (the very rabbit savvy Mrs Harcourt Brown), and get all Kellogg's previous notes faxed to them.

THe one we were referred to were Broadway vets in Peterborough..they were really good and very patient with me ringing all the time..nimber is 01733562904

Have you tried companion care at P@H? we use the Peterborough one and they are very good...they have just opened the one in Kings Lynn

Peterborough is about 45 mins to an hour away from me, and they get really stressed in the car so I don't think I'd wanna take them that far. I normally get my supplies from P@H Kings Lynn but never really thought their vets bit would be much good. I will check it out though. Thanks for all your help everyone. :D
