Sorry another bonding question!

We have had our doe (Angel - mini lop) now for a year, she's a house rabbit, recently we decided we should get her a play mate. We picked him up (Cocoa - lionhead) from the RSPCA last weekend. We are currently trying to bond them and have put them together for short periods 3 times now on neutral ground.

The first time Angel was petrified of Cocoa even though hes half the size and she spent most of the time running from him. He didn't seem phased by it at all.

The second time they ignored eachother brieflly and the Angel went over to Cocoa and bowed her head for him to groom her. When he didn't groom her she lost her patience and things turned a little nasty and we had to seperate them.

The third time the same thing happened, it all started off okay and then she bowed her head and he was either trying to put his head beneath her or just wasn't interested in grooming her which subsequently lead to a fight and they had to be seperated.

Will this sort itself out? What if he doesn't know what he should do so to speak. Or he doesn't want to groom her? Will they still be able to establish a bond? or will it always end in a fight?

Just to fill you all in he's about 6 months and she is about 13 months old they have been spayed and neutered.

This is my first time trying to bond rabbits.

I wouldnt keep separating, just breaks any bond thats forming and stresses buns.Set aside a weekend then bond them in one go,leaving them together in a neutral ,small area, day and night.Be prepared for chasing, nipping, humping and fur pulling.Let them get on with it unless real aggression is shown.Best of luck:D
