  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Is it normal to have different sized poos throughout the day?B's vary from tiny poos to large poos throughout the day.Occasionally she has the odd one or two ceacocraphs[sp?!!]Is this normal as am panicing after reading that dental thread.

they do indeed vary from size and colour acording to what theyve eaten....BUT if you spot some very small poops in with the normal ones its an indictaion thats something slowing down in there..be very careful..if the poops are soooo tiny and theres also some big ones..you odnt know which are the most recent..so best keep an eye on your bun...give them some fibreplex to help them go some more and keep up the hay amounts..if no change fater a few hours then ring the vets for advice and maybe take bun in for a check up.

my mums bun did huge poos went into start of gi stasis and also produced some minute mishapen ones...luckily the vet had given her a shot of metalop and pain relief. but she was pooing big and teeny weeny odd poos for at least 24hrs after.

On the whole, they are a good size, its just over night they are a little smaller and also has at least a few squashed ceacographs[sp?]Im not too worried but just thought i would ask. Thanks for your replys:)
