Rabbit first aid kit

Lread

Young Bun
Hi,

Is there anything that I should add to my rabbit first aid kit, for when a rabbit stops eating / pooing. I have some recovery, a probiotic and a heat pad.

This is just until I can get my rabbit to the vets.

I'm asking because Sunday she had to go to the emergency vets, as she wasn't eating / pooing. I think this is going to be a regular thing, as Molly has to have regular dentals.

I want to be able to make her a comfortable as possible before I can see the vets in future.

Hi that sounds great. That's what I have also got in mine for emergencies. Have you got syringes in different sizes. That's probably the only other thing I could think to add. Hope Molly's feeling a bit better today.

Syringes you can get from a pharmacy (or your vet) - think they are about 35p in Sainsbury.

I also have in mine some infacol, cotton wool pads, hibiscrb (mild disinfectant for any cuts). I always keep a fresh pineapple in the house too in case they need tempting for fluids.

my bif is this type of bunny.......

we have syringes....fibreplex paste...recovery sachets...bio lapis sachets......and if i can i get squeezed pineapple juice not from concentrate..even if it means catching a bus into town and buying a carton!
