  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

baldy little rabby

pepsiandcokey

Young Bun
i have a 10 month old english spot ( even though she's totally black - a throw back apparently) who has lovely shine coat. whilst bonding her with a new male bunny we did have some horrible scuffles and there were occasions where her fur was everywhere. she has a couple of scabs that have healed ok but there was a patch on her neck where he pulled the fur out, leaving no blood or cuts, but a bald patch that hasnt grown back even though its been about 3 weeks?

when she was neatured 4 months ago they shaved her tummy and that too has remained bald???? vet says not to worry
any one else have this? dont want a baldy little rabby!

My girl was spayed in March and still has a bald belly! And my little man had his leg amputated in April and where he had his fur shaved on his hip and side all has grown back except for a patch about 2cm square, its nothing to worry about :D

can i ask...why did he have to have it amputated?
i always worry about pepsi because she likes to climb stuff and jump off and i worry if she breaks a leg?

He had recurring abcesses on his leg and it was infected so the best option was to remove the leg to stop the infection spreading further.
