  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Well honey has eaten a little bit and pooed a little bit. Vet said she is not happy letting her home though. Harley is still very unhappy. I have a appointment at 3:10 to visit her as she will be staying in again, Question is would it be best for me to take Harley with me or would it make it worse, I am not sure what would be best:(

Aww Hon :( I was a total mess when Rhi was in the vets, but it truly is the best place. My Mum said shes sure Rhia wouldn't have made the night had we not got her to the vets & them care for her. Do you mean take Harley to visit? Or to stay? I wouldnt leave Rhia without Daniel so they agreed to let him stay too, but the next day they asked if I'd have him home because she was poorly & he wasnt helping as much as we'd thought he might...he came home covered in recovery food so it was easy to believe  but some buns need their friends to help them get better...So, why not take him & see how Honey is with him, whether she livens up, and ask the vet what they think in reguards to him staying? Good luck, Im sure she will be okay - we're thinking of you X

Just for a visit not to stay. I know he would help but they need to monitor her eating drinking and poo's so she will have to stay on her own:(

Hmm yeah that was a problem with mine too. I dont think I'd take him to visit tbh, might be in the minority but I wouldnt want to be letting see each other then taking their friend away again - would probably confuse them more :?
