  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I noticed Speckled Baby was different last night after the feed. I think s/he may have taken in air with the milk as s/he was fine before the feed. I did give tunny rubs last night before bed.

This morning very quite almost floppy baby with slow nose twitches.

I have tried my best to syringe feed tomato juice followed by water with some probiotic and infacol.

I have put baby back in the nest with siblings who have cuddled around him/her.

Going home from work in a couple of hours to check. Any ideas on what else I can try?

no I'm sorry have no clue - just best wishes for the poor mite :( Probably a good idea to ring a rabbit savvy vet and ask the vet to ring you back when they get a minute maybe?

Im sorry I cant help but just want to send baby lots of vibes. I agree about having a chat with the vet :)

Phoned the vets but got the usual... without the vet seeing the bunny.... answer. The nurse could not suggest anything other than what I had tried

Going home shortly to check and carefully try more fluids.

 I am so very sorry. May Speckled Baby be reunited with his mummy and binky with her at the bridge xxx

Thanks everyone, I'm starting to feel it more now actually, but I think you do when you are tired. I'm going to burry the little one in a hay nest box in my garden.
