I don't think you get metal fly mesh. It's like plastic stuff, very fine only a couple of mm

i have netting across windows to protect house buns from flies and me from wasps and spiders:lol:

i have seen metal mesh but its brass and bloomin pricey!

bif chewed a hole in my fubreglass mesh and ive panicked ever since.it was a hole about the size of a fingertip and she didnt eat it she just spat it out like she does her meds:lol: scared me witless tho!

heres the places.

pricey stuff
a 50cm by 50cm steelmesh fine works out at 25!

Could be a cheapskate and use net curtains (even cheaper from charity shops)? If you needed some strength you could put normal wire mesh behind it?

I got mine on ebay. It's black and comes with self-adhesive velcro tape with attaches to the frame and the net just sticks to it. Very cheap.
