  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Has anyone from the leeds area used the vets based at My Pet Stop? If so what were your expereinces with them like?

It's very near the whiterose centre, it's a big animal centre they do animal boarding, have a lot of facilities for dogs, puppy classess agaility classes etc. The actual centre is ace i've been loads of times to various parties etc that they have, but i've never used the vets there and just wondering if anyone had any experiences. I'm looking at having 2 rabbits neutered, now the vet we normally take scruff to i would not trust as far as i could throw them, he had a problem with his eyes and as a result got really matted fur round his eyes, the vet told us to just trim them with kitchen scissors! I didn't i've bathed them and they are better but i wouldn't trust them.

yikes!

i dont go down there much anymore since they changed the buses. I use one in moortown and they are excellent but probably too far for you...? hope you find one x x x

Hi I live in Bradford now and use one in Wibsey called Oakroyd who are absolutely fab with rabbits, but may be to far away for you. Before I moved I used one in Dewsbury(down the road from whiterose) called Calder Vets as a friends daughter is a vet nurse there...not the cheapest but very good.
Hope this helps
