Feeding supplements?

Fluffy_Whabbit

I know that rabbits can't live on pellets alone, so I was wondering, what are some good supplements? I've heard that oats is good and also hay should be given. I heard that muesli is not bad either, is this true? And what types of fruits are bunnies favorite?

Thanks! :)

Hello

The very best diet for a Bun should consist of 80% hay. Pellets should only be a tiny part of the diet. A healthy adult Rabbit does not need them at all if they have a good variety of hays and fresh Veg daily plus the opportunity to graze on grass.

Foods high in carbohydrates such as oats are not suitable to be fed as a regular part of the diet. High carbohydrate foods cause gut problems, some of which can be very serious.
Fruit should only be fed occassionaly as the sugar content in fruit can also cause nasty gut problems.
