  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Creams?

Jazzy B Bunny

Wise Old Thumper
Are there any creams I can use on jazzy's legs to help them heal a bit? The vet didnt give me anything nither did she do anything to them.

I'm no expert and maybe someone else be along soon who is.

I would think as with Humans creams interfere with the bodies natural healing process, maybe just make sure bun not licking it's legs, and make sure clean and dry!

sudocreme is good for sore skin. You can get it in the baby section of any chemists. It's in a grey tub and only costs about £1.50.

If there is actually a proper wound, you might be better getting a proper antibiotic cream from your vet.

my

dermagel is very very good for healing and regrowing hair!
it comes in a gel form or spray i used it on one of my rexs that had a really nasty bite wound from its sibling and the fur even came back the same colour hes now being shown and judges cant even tell that there was a bite wound there. i highly recomend it!!!:D

See "Poor Jazzy" post just below this one! Poor bun has few mites and has chewed both back legs doen to bone!

Ah, just read the thread, poor bunny and poor you. I'd ask the vet before putting anything on him just in case it causes more irritation. Hope he gets better soon x
