Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

How much panacur paste for a dwarf rabbit?

Following Sooz's advice, i am going to put Smokey on a course of Panacur as soon as possible.

If I get the Panacur Rabbit Paste in the syringe, it says that the dosage is 1 syringe graduation per 2.5kg body weight. Now Smokey is a tiny Netherland Dwarf who I can't see that he even weights 1kg let alone 2.5kg (I will weigh him to check) so will 1 syringe graduation be too much for him?

Does anyone else have a dwarf rabbit and have you treated them with Panacur and how much did you give them?

Thanks

My vet told me to give Nia(neithie) half a graduation, but it was so fiddly and many people on here said that as a full graduation is for buns UP to 2.5 kilos it would be safe to give her the full graduation.. She's half way through her 60 day course now and seems fine with it. I give it to her every morning on a mini shreddie and she practically jumps out of her tray(but being Nia, doesn't quite have the courage to do that properly!!) to get to it!

One graduation. In the same way I explained the liquid dose its 1 graduation UP TO 2.5kg, 2 graduations UP TO 5kg and so on.

My Tarquin is a Netherland Dwarf and I gave him one graduation a day - he had it on a banana chip as he wouldn't let me near his mouth with the syringe.
