  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

They should be fed as normal. I sometimes take some pellets up to the vet with the buns so they can be fed when they come round aswell.

There is nothing you need to do pre op that you dont normally do for your buns. They should eat and drink normally until they are delivered to the lovely Christabel. They should each have a final snuggle before you tell them you will see them later ;)

As Angie says take a packed lunch along with them just in case they have specialist tastes and don't like the timothy hay they will get given at the surgery.

Then it is getting things ready for their return.

I might see you in the morning as I have 5 for VHD vaccinations :D

As you saw Janice, id packed thier packed lunch and drop them off a little while ago at the Vets. Didnt get to bump in to Jane, which would have been nice. Maybe tonight, when i go and pick the boys up.

I just hope it all goes well now!! My Fingers are Tightly Crossed!! Cant wait till 3pm to give'em call. Bless'em!

Gonna keep them inside tonight, keep them nice warm and snugglely!! My Babies.
