Why you should consider insurance

Just got Lilac's renewal through, she's nearly 11 and has had some health issues in the last couple of years so it's gone up to £500. Out of interest I decided to see what she's cost in vet fees in the last year, totted everything up and in vet fees alone she's cost £2725!!! £800 of that was an MRI and about £250 was on a dental but everything else was just bits and bobs for her various conditions (arthritis, ear issues, UTI). I didn't even include all the online drug purchases but that would probably push it close to £3000.

A couple of years ago I debated cancelling her insurance as she'd barely used it in the time I've had her, but now she's definitely making up for it! I wouldn't put her through anything major but it shocked me just how much we've paid out (thankfully have probably got £2000 or so back from insurers after excess deducted etc, it's only the dental we couldn't claim for).

Thank you for this post!!! I need to look into it, my baby is just 12 weeks old but I want to provide the best care for her and be prepared for whatever may come our way.
