I'll never understand it. People are missing out by making such silly prejudices

Aww, they are both beautiful!

Ailsa waited months and months for a home. Had I seen her sooner, I would have brought her home sooner. Not only is she black, but she is 4 years old. Not the immediate choice for most people looking for a bunny.

I think she is lovely

Look at that mane flowing in the wind!

I love all these pictures of black bunnies

I'm having trouble typing this one handed because of the black cat stretched out on my lap, asleep with his head on my other hand!

We adopted 2 black cats a month ago, they were 10 and 15 weeks old and absolutely gorgeous but had been overlooked because of the litter of younger, more colourful kittens in the rescue. Ebony, the older one had passed the 'cute baby' phase as well and that wasn't helping. Someone had wanted to adopt Wallie on his own but the rescue would't separate them.

They are the most loving, affectionate cats I've ever met!

See! Black cats = TROUBLE!

You know I read this book called: Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul. And there was this story about this lady that worked at a shelter and there were SO MANY unwanted black cats. So she named this one black kitten the first thing that popped in her head: Jellybean. So that day a lady said "What a great name, Jellybean!" So the lady asked "Would you like to adopt her?" the other lady said "Yes I would LOVE to! You know I would have NEVER noticed this kitten if its name wasn't Jellybean." So something AMAZING happened! She named EVERY black cat Jellybean and they ALL got adopted! So she was like "Wow if I hadn't named that ONE black kitten Jellybean this would have NEVER happened!" Isn't that a GREAT story? It touched my heart:love:.

I have to admit in the past I've usually looked for pets of other colors than all black... but my first rex was picked out specifically because he was black:p Black rex rabbits are just gorgeous.
I have somehow ended up with a lot of black pets otherwise too. I had a couple of rabbit litters once and since black is a very dominant color most of my black buck's kits inherited his color (others were pure white, almost funny since their parents were both dark colored, their mom a sable, but that's genetics for you XD) My dog was black, all of mom's cats are black (once again a case of genetics since they got one black female cat who had one accidental litter before getting neutered), I've had a black spotted hamster and now a black rat.

Sevi the bridge piggy was the best gp I've ever known, lovely lovely girl.

I don't think anyone much liked her colouring, especially when I first got her as the ginger grew later, but I thought she was sleek and beautiful and she had the best temperament going. She also lived to just short of 6, died of a heart attack having never had a day's ill health in her life, so clearly a healthy set of genes!:love:

Edit: I've thought of only one bad thing about black pets, it's harder to cut their nails! But easier to see if they've got lice!

I don't know about rabbits, but my cat was from a litter of kittens that my aunt found in her compost heap. They were all black and white, but we went for the most white one because we thought it would be more visible in the dark and therefore less likely to be hit by a car. It obviously depends on how close to main roads you live, but we would never ever have gone for a black cat because there are several big roads close to us and we wanted to minimise the risk.

That doesn't apply to rabbits though, and I do think black animals are gorgeous!

In the past, I have had a wildie lookalike and black rabbit. I'm not sure why they're not adopted - if I didn't have an existing rabbit and could choose bunnies for myself, a wildie would be my first choice, followed by black. Wildies are just so amazing :love::love:

eta: I also have 2 gorgeous black piggies - both different temperaments - one comes right up to me to demand cuddles or food, and the other who runs and hides, but both beautiful

I think it is because they are so common

I have black bunnies and have had lots of black animals they are gorgeous.

Barney the black bunny

I have a black bunny called Barney who lives inside and he is the most loveable yet cheeky boy ever. The way he hops around he definitely owns the place, yet he loves his cuddles and will stretch up for kisses on his nose. I can't believe people overlook black animals.... So unfair!:(
