• Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
Hi new to this my Bun Oreo who is 7 is needing a tooth filed down Vets4Pets are wanting over £500 for the procedure I was shocked at price and everything in email attachment they sent me. bit much for just one tooth I have contacted another Vets and they said it wouldn’t cost as much has anyone else had this problem with Vets4pets’s I have been registered with them since Oreo was young and didn’t want to move now might have to

Vets in the big chains do tend to be more expensive. It's worth asking around for both price and experience in doing rabbit dentals.
There's a list of vets on the RWAF website, for starters.

yeah only the Vets4Pets in my town and next one on that list one I am at seems to care more for cats and dogs

Vets will see mostly cats and dogs, but sometimes there is someone with a rabbit specialism (hence the RWAF listings). Staff do change, though, and it may not always be obvious what other specialisms they have without checking directly.
