New Kit
Hi guys! I make lots of toys for my rabbits, like willow wreaths and healthy cookies and cardboard burrows. But I was curious if anyone knew any easy toys to help keep my very active buck happy and entertained? Thanks so much!

Cardboard burrows? cardboard has glue in it so I wouldn't do that but toilet paper rolls can be cut up into fun shapes and my bunnies love tearing them apart!

Fleece - I dump a pile of fleece blankets on the floor and Kanga "digs" them up.
I also use a string across the run and peg cabbage leaves on like a washing line.
Not exciting but does make him move about.

I've found mine like toys that involve food mainly. Under my spare bed I've loads of paper, cardboard etc (my business supplies come with a lot of paper & cardboard materials) & my girl especially, loves nothing more than digging & smoothing under there. On bonus days they get a handful of dried forage mixed in with it all. I've done what Cuthbert & Dillon does with herbs etc pegged out on a washing line. & I always hide the majority of their food within toys or at very heights around the room, switching up where I put it

Are they house bunnies ?

I've never thought of hanging up leaves! That's pretty ingenious.

One thing my rabbits love is their treat ball. When conditions are okay (because rain is just a recipe for mud-ball!) I put their pellets in a treat ball. They have fun getting the pellets out, and they also love the mess it makes!

You can use short (1-2') branches with leaves on and do all sorts with them, eg put them through mesh at various heights and angles. Willow is particularly good (and plentiful) for that, but any bunny-safe tree will do (eg apple, pear, buddlia, lilac), especially if somone nearby is pruning it and it's free.

Willow as in commercially bought or garden willow please?

I have apple trees and a buddlia - they feel pretty manky at this year but would it be okay to use if I dry them off for a day or two first ?

We are fortunate in that we have a large choice of rabbit friendly trees available and so use them. That includes both Willow and Apple. I've never had a bunny who will eat Buddleia, but it is perfectly good to feed. I've also never been particularly fussy about washing or drying twigs, but would always check for things like berries on Hawthorn, which I remove, or any bird droppings, which I also remove.

Thanks for all your replies! I have made lots of toys out of willow and paper tubes and I also made a DIY snuffle mat too!
