• Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Supporting Casper

Thank you, everyone ❤️ Everything's going well between them. They have access to most of the apartment now during the day, though at night they're still confined to their room until I'm sure everything's Saar proof. She's been on the balcony and started eating everything she could get her fluffy paws on :ROFLMAO: So, I definitely need to Saar proof my plants or nothing will be left of them! She's very entertaining, and very, very curious. She wants to see and inspect everything and know what you're doing. She loves to "help" clean their room. She's still obsessed with food. The other day I was bringing Casper's old mushy pellets to the kitchen and she followed behind me like a puppy, because old mushy pellets are super tasty, I guess!

Casper has not been well, sadly. We're still trying to figure out what's going on, but syringe feeding him takes twice as long as usual because Saar loves his syringe feed and keeps shoving her face in the way to lick the spilled drops off Casper and the little bed he sits in while I feed him. Yesterday she ran off with one of the syringes. A few days ago I came into their room after having prepared the syringes and Saar went to sit in the little bed right away, waiting for the yums, haha. When she thought I was taking too long, she kept coming over to me and then running back to the little bed. She happily eats it from the syringe when I give her some, though I wonder if she'll be as enthusiastic if she ever needs it herself :ROFLMAO: She really loves his Metacam, too. She keeps trying to get it when I give Casper his medication, and yesterday I had left the empty Metacam and syringe feed syringes on the floor while I was cleaning up their room and I looked around and found her with half of his Metacam syringe sticking out of her mouth. She's very silly ❤️

OMG she sounds like Lopsy :D Lopsy climbed the carpet we had lashed to the side of the run when he was in the attic bedroom the first winter we had him (he was unwell so came inside), literally vertical carpet, designed to stop him using it like a ladder. Or maybe used the run like a ladder in a different place. Either way, we found a very thirsty B&W lop who didn't mind being picked up for the only time in his life who's eaten loads of hay and explored our untidy attic room, dusting things XD He would do ANYTHING for food. Except syringes: I could get him to take most things off a spoon or a treat but syringes were out. Like Saar, he'd force his fat bum anywhere he could have a chance at food.

Not unrelatedly, our current two escaped by pushing the issue the other day: because Chibbs is blind now, she uses her face a lot more now to push things. She pushed a loose run section we hadn't realised was loose and went on a garden explore. Barrie was easy to find, but Chibbs is garden-coloured and moves a lot less these days, so we spent 15-20mins just finding her XD

I've enjoyed reading their thread, sorry I haven't had time to post more often <3

Saar sounds absolutely delightful, and very entertaining, she's certainly keeping you on your toes 😆 hope Casper is feeling much better soon, sending him lots of get well vibes x

I hope you find a positive way forward for your wee boy. Its sad he's not well when he should be enjoying your apartment with Saar & you should be having some well deserved worry free time.

Saar's tales have me in stitches. She sounds very full on - I love that in a bunny. She is a very clever bun learning the syringe feeding & metacam routine so quickly. She really does sound extremely food motivated ❤️ 🤣 even for s bunny.

Its good they have a lovely relationship, despite Casper's ill health.. What nice natured bunnies:love:

It is wonderful Casper has Saar in his life to give him friendship and comfort, especially if he is not well.
Sending Casper lots of feel better vibes and some nose pets for Saar.

Thank you so much for reading about my silly girl, everyone, and for your vibes and hopes for Casper ❤️ I'm sorry I'm too exhausted to reply to your messages, but I appreciate them, and, keletkezes, your story about Lopsy escaping and devouring the hay and dusting your attic room made me laugh. I'm glad you were eventually able to find garden-coloured Chibbs after she and Barrie escaped, too, haha.
