Should I try to find a bunny friend?

Young Bun
Hello all,
My beautiful bunny was sadly PTS 2 weeks ago, leaving behind his brother, although they weren't bonded. They did however enjoy each other's presence. Due to my own age (60s) and also my remaining rabbit's age (nearly 9), I wasn't planning on any more bunnies. My bunny's ok - eating, pooping, having snuggles, etc. He looks so lost in his run though. A rescue in my county of Nottinghamshire have some lovely bunnies ( Brinsley Animal Rescue). Not sure what to do for the best! I attach a photo of my lone rabbit.

I don’t know anything about Brinsley. Barnsley Animal Rescue (BARC) is great and has a dedicated rabbit section. They may be able to help. Would you be able to have him as an indoor bunny? an indoor bunny is the only time I’d consider having a lone bunny, as they get more attention indoors. Some rescues offer to long term foster a bunny to act as a friend, and then take the bunny back if needed.

I think it is worth talking to rescue and seeing what is available and what options you have going forward. Your bunny looks beautiful.

Thank you. I'd prefer an older bunny, but so far haven't been able to find one. My bunny brothers have always lived outdoors (inside a shed in the winter months), but enjoyed a run around the house occasionally along with running around the garden.

He is beautiful - the smaller of the 2 bunnies, supposedly from the same litter but I wasn't there to see this.
