Question on bonding a 3rd bun into a bonded male + female pair

I am about to go to the rabbit rescue in about 1 to 2 weeks and adopt the 3rd rabbit. The 3rd rabbit is the brother of the male in the male/female bonded pair, another very tame lop.

Supposedly, I would put the 2 bonded bun in 1 region (a pen), and the new bun in another pen, and the 3 of them (2 set of space next to ea. other) 24 hr. x 7 days.

Now, there is a bit of a hiccup: The 2 bonded bun since Sep / Oct. 2025, occasionally chase each other, I caught the male trying to hump the female, and the female doesn't like it, so they chase ea. other, until I stop it. To be fair, all the neuter male from SPCA in the past decades has hump their female partners on rare occasion, so this is nothing new. The only difference is, this female doesn't like being hump, and she tries to nip back.

So how would you bond the 3rd bun into the group when I don't feel safe to put the 2 bonded bun in 1 region of space, in the rare case that they chase ea. other, try to nip ea. other?
 
many members I know have bonded a group of rabbits.

My bonded pair, the female, Andi, is very dominant, she's the problem of the group, so I put her in a 24 hr. x 7 days routine side by side w/ my new bun BoBo. So they can smell ea. other.

the male Bucky that is the brother of BoBo, they are both soft character rabbits. So he's already hopping outside BoBo's pen, but there is no nipping, all Bucky does so far is mark his territory w/ his poo and urinate outside the pen. And the fact that there is no nipping eventhough BoBo and Bucky can touch ea. other, is a very good sign

I wouldn't add a third rabbit just yet. The chasing and nipping between your current pair suggests their bond isn’t fully stable, and introducing another bun could make things worse.
 

Whenever there is a open wound (1 cm), do we always use anti-biotics or not?

so in the midst of bonding today, my male bun bite the female bun w/ an approx. 1 cm open wound. I have already use flamazine for anti-inflammation and medical grade manuka honey to seal the wound. Update: upon closer examination w/ a magnifying glass, it's a 1 cm superficial wound only. If...

so further to the above thread, where the bonding of Bobo and Andi has a setback, and that Andi needs the stitching. Since then, because Andi has her fur shaved, I don't want Bobo to bite on Andi thru the metal pen, as such, I flip the metal pen 180 deg., and the other side of the metal pen has chicken wire, so the 2 buns can't chew thru the pen. In summary, the 2 buns can smell ea. other, but they can't interact

Recently, Andi's fur grows back, so I flip the metal pen back to the way it was, and the 2 buns can poke thru the metal pen, and there is some nipping.

As of approx. 2 weeks ago, when there is no more rain, I take the 2 buns outside again, these session, what I did is, I put the surgical suit on ea. bun, so they can't nip ea. other, and it works. And they did a few bunny nose rub and there is no fight.

I have also switch their living area. So as the other week, Andi is now living in BoBo's living area, and vice versa.

Now, yesterday, due to the temperature has finally get hot, I didn't put the surgical suits on neither bun, and there is some nipping at the fur level.

So today, I put back the surgical suits on , and only take them out after sun down, say 7 pm. And that does work.

Now tonight for the 1st time, I take Andi back to Bobo current living area (Andi former living area) and Andi initiate some nipping twice, so I put a stop to it.

My problem is, when they do their nipping, many of my bunny friends said it's okay, but from nipping to a full scale fight, it only takes a 1 second difference.

So I welcome any other tricks / suggestion to complete their bonding.
