pellets

When I feed my two in the morning they almost fall over themselves to get their pellets and every time I go in to them, Bessie who is a rex in particular, they run over and circle my feet. They have masses of hay and some greens every day yet since cutting their pellets down to an eggcup each they seem starving! Should I start giving them a little bit more especially with the temperature dropping?

ive got mine down to only 7 pellets each , I sound mean   but ever since then their appetite for hay which was already good is even better, they are hay monsters now  I change between meadow and timothy during the day to give them a change

My buns are the same! They have 24hour access to grass fresh hay every morning and evening(which they never eat all of!?) also fresh forage and or greens every evening but they are still disparate for their pellets!! I scatter a few around shed for them to find and They go mad for them! I do wonder if they need more... But then they aren't eating all the hay so they can't be starving??? Although they do eat every bit if grass they can, maybe they just don't like the hay???

My three are exactly the same, it's quite mad how they act like they're starving! But I have to be strict for their own sake. Its one of the reasons why I get them lots of different hays and forage packs in the hope it will distract them from pellets for 5 mins!
If they're outside buns you could increase it a bit, if they're inside then I would make them stick it out tbh:) Mean as it feels, you're only trying to help them.

Mine are also the same at pellet time. I practically get attacked when the cupboard door they're kept in opens and they're in the bag trying to stuck they're head in before I can get to it! They jump up at me and run in circles. But they do that for most good greedy little munchins, you would think I starve them!

Haha, funny you mention your rex is particularly bad as my 2 are incredibly greedy!! Though Bernard and Bianca - who were very underweight when I got them - will literally try and climb my legs in the mornings

I will not give in! Have just ordered some timothy hay so finger crossed that will fill them up a bit! Thanks for the advice.

Yesterday I bought home a sack of pellets, a 20kg bag of just grass and a big bag of hay as can't get to the place where I buy a bale of hay till tomorrow, I put them all in the garden and while I was shutting the back gate they attacted the pellet bag so I putvthek in them in the big bin I keep them in and whilst I was doing that they attacked the just grass bag making a hole in it !
