Oats for underweight rabbit?

SSG178

New Kit
My recently adopted netherland dwarf rabbit (spayed, 3yrs old) is quite underweight and I've seen online that oats are a good way for them to gain weight.
I just have a few questions regarding what oats to feed as I was unable to find the answer when looking online.
1) Will porridge oats be fine for rabbits? I don't eat oats so I don't know the different types but my housemate has porridge oats I could use?
2) Do I give it raw or should I soak it in water and give it to her in the water solution?
3) How many times a day/how much should I give her?

I have been giving her lots of pellets but she is extremely active so it seems she is burning off whatever she eats. I cannot provide an unlimited amount of pellets else her partner will eat it all:ROFLMAO:

She has also seen the vets and they said she is perfectly healthy but to bring her back if her weight doesn't increase.

Usually, if a Rabbit remains underweight there is a health problem. Did the Vet check her teeth ,the molars? Do you watch her eating to be sure she does eat properly? You say you have recently adopted her so maybe she needs time to feel more settled and reach a normal weight. I would give her more time, you could try some Alfalfa hay which has more protein and calcium in it before going down the oats way. Give her a few weeks ann if you don't see an improvement then take her back to the Vet.

I would also weigh her weekly to check if she's maintaining / losing / gaining weight. Give her time to settle in and then reassess, but if she is losing weight over a couple of weeks, she needs a full vet checkup.

She eats completely fine! She is actually a demon when it comes to food, and she has settled in way better than expected unlike her partner. She showers me with affection and loves running around n exploring ! I will try Alfalfa hay thank you :)

Also her Vet checked her teeth and said there was nothing wrong with them so if she isn't putting on weight then they're suggesting a blood test :(
