New outdoor bun

New Kit
Hi i currently have an outdoor bunny who is completely fine in this weather in the UK.
I'm adopting a new bunny she is 4yrs old who is outdoors in the day and the current owner brings her in at night. Should I do the same or will she adapt to be out over night obvs as long as she has plenty of bedding?
Please help as unsure what to do for the right thing atm. I'm.getting her this week

This is a difficult issue. I presume the new bunny has been living in a house close to you ie has experienced the same or similar weather conditions?

I personally would not be happy putting a bunny, who has been living indoors overnight, outside at night in the middle of winter. She will probably not have developed her winter coat. However, it is also not advisable to alternate a bunny's living environment, between inside and outside during winter. The change of temperature is really not good for them.

I presume that you are hoping to bond them? If you are and if you were planning on doing this in the near future then I think your safest option would be to house both bunnies indoors day and night, until the temperature warms up next Spring, when they could then live together outside. It would also be best to have them in a room where there is little or no heating, as your existing bunny is used to the outside temperatures.

I would be interested in the opinions of others on this unusual type of issue.

So would i, the current owner brings her in overnight as her bunny partner died and she thought the bunny would be cold on her own without the other to cuddle up to. This has been so for a few weeks. I'm confused as to why she thought this was necessary. She is outside all day and evening.
Yes only living a few miles away currently.

I think if I were you, I would find out just how many weeks this has been going on for. If it is quite a short time, then it is possible that you would be able to keep her outside day and night with a lot of bedding. It depends also what their accommodation is like. Is it well insulated? Have you got some Snugglesafes or similar to provide some extra heating? Where do you intend bonding them?
